As a hardcore Placebo fan for many years, we were dying with anticipation for this album. Their last album “Meds” was amazing, but the tour really took a toll on the entire band. It was evidently very rough for the band, seeing them perform was like watching old robots perform without grease. It was obvious to the band and we bet to many fans that they needed a change in order for them to survive at all.
They decided that the best change would be obtaining a new drummer Steve Forest for that fresh look they have been craving. Upon our first hearing of tracks from Battle For the Sun, we were quite taken back as we were expecting the dark, somewhat claustrophobic sound of the Meds album. Nevertheless Battle For the Sun features a positive, new “light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel” feeling. Though the album may take some getting used to for avid Placebo fans, it has great potential and amazing toons to get any rocker – rocking out!
Musique Review gives Battle For the Sun a rating of 7.5/10!

It’s been almost 3 years since Metric has produced a studio album and Fantasies readily makes up for everything. Metric has yet again made yet another amazing album that exemplifies why this band is still around. This slightly different from their previous albums offering more pop, and catchy toons. “Help I’m Alive” is a great single which they used as their first single but it does not do this album justice. With Gimme Sympathy as a second single, the sales of this album have sky-rocketted to number one on the Canadian iTunes store because it’s catchy toon and infectious feeling.
“Gold Guns Girls,” “Satallite Mind,” and “Stadium Love,” are among our personal favourites of this album. Stadium Love is a great song that will make any crowd go crazy. Don’t take our word for it however, see for yourself from one of insiders recordings from one of Metric amazing venues:
Bravo Metric… Bravo, MR gives you a 9/10 on Fantasies!

Lets take a look at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and their third studio album entitled “It’s Blitz!” It’s Blitz has a different sound to previous albums of the YYYs. It features more of an electronic pop-settled mood on most of the albums tracks like “Runaway,” “Skeletons,” “Soft Shock,” and most notable the song “Hysteric” that is reminiscent of the famous single “Maps” which placed the YYYs literally on the map. With our favourite songs being “Dull Life,” “Zero,” and Hysteric,” Musique Reviews gives this album a MR Rating of 8.5 out 10.
We still prefer listening to Karen O’s raw vocal screeching from that of “Fever to Tell” and “Show Your Bones,” However it still remains as an amazing album to played at any dance party, and a definite buy for any fan of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs!
